Happy International Women’s Day!
We celebrate the women who continue to inspire us every day.
Our Women’s Collection officially began in 1949 when we partnered with Vogue to create our first women’s item: a pink button-down collar shirt.
The shirt, photographed by John Rawlings for Vogue’s cover, would become an instant best seller and a fashion classic.
But really, stylish women had already been shopping with us long before that.
In the 1920s, women studying at Vassar were flocking to Brooks Brothers to purchase boys’ and men’s oxford button-down collar shirts and our camel polo coats. Borrowed-from-the-boys looks that would become a mainstay across college campuses for generations.
Through the years countless women, including many icons of stage and screen, have worn Brooks Brothers.
We continue to stay true to the timeless style that has defined Brooks Brothers for over a century. Vogue Magazine image courtesy of Condé Nast
